Here’s some stuff that I’ve worked on if you’re interested in checking it out:

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Mira Trailer

My buddy Matthew Grimm did a large portion of the sound design for this character with some back-up work by myself and she is voiced by a good friend of mine, the ever-talented Fryda Wolff.

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Season 3 Launch Trailer

This was similar to the Season 2 Launch/Finale trailer.  Primarily music driven with lots of sweetening sound design.  You should see the amount of whoosh sounds effects I’ve recorded and designed for this game.  It’s…a lot.  🙂 Music by Atlas Plug & Celldweller.

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Tusk Trailer

VIKING WITH A MASSIVE SWORD. This dude was tons of fun to work on. Lots of really awesome metal/blade recordings mixed with some rad whoosh material that we got by attaching various metal items at the end of an ethernet cable that we whirled around a microphone. Music by Atlas Plug & Celldweller.

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Arbiter Trailer

If you like Halo AND Killer Instinct, you’ll love this! Arbiter is making a special appearance in KI! How cool is that?

Had a lot of fun with this one.  I worked with 343 very closely and they were very gracious with their ideas and feedback.  Music by Atlas Plug & Celldweller.

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Kim Wu Trailer

This was a returning character from the original Killer Instinct 2 and we had a ball updating her sound to be part of the new roster.  Chase Ashbaker, Matthew Grimm, and I had to put her together really quickly and Josh Bandy helped me out with the trailer.  Lots of fun!  Music by Atlas Plug & Celldweller.

Killer Instinct: Season 3 – Rash Trailer

Our first trailer for Killer Instinct: Season 3 was the reveal of Rash from Battletoads!  This character was tons of fun to create.  My pal Jeff and I had a blast creating a hybrid “high-end” meeting “8-bit” character.  Lots of prop whoosh recordings meet SIDStation + 8-bit waveform generation.  WOOHOO. Music by Atlas Plug & Celldweller.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Season Finale Trailer

This one was similar to the Season 2 Launch trailer…I did the music edit and then did tons of sweetening.  This was lots of fun because there are tons of really fast cuts.  It’s a very…umm…subtle trailer.  🙂 Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – ARIA Trailer

ARIA was another character that I ran support on in terms of sound design.  I was focused primarily on her vocal processing and overall audio direction (and her music edit for this trailer).  Mr. Jeff Dombkowski did the brunt of her sound design.  She sounds awesome!  Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Cinder Trailer

Cinder was one of the characters that I was most excited to design for.  I ran point on a huge fire/flame recording session (check out the “Sounds of Killer Instinct: Season 2” documentary) and had a ball constructing all of his SFX.  His trailer was a blast as well.  It’s balls to the wall!  Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Hisako Trailer

Hisako was delightful to design for.  My buddy Jeff Dombkowski did the brunt of her design with me overseeing and running back-up for him.  He did the brunt of the sound edit for this trailer as well.  I focused primarily on the music edit, the voice-over, and the final mix.  Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Aganos Trailer

This is still one of my favorite trailers for Killer Instinct.  Loved the story telling, music, and overall pace.  I had a lot of fun with this one.  Plus, I’m the voice of Aganos and a voice in the choir! Music by Mick Gordon

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Kan-Ra Trailer

Kan-Ra was a ball to create sound design for.  I talk about some of this in the “Sounds of Killer Instinct: Season 2” documentary, but there was a lot of really fun recording sessions with dragged objects, pulsing old metal filing cabinets with low-end frequencies, tape and dirt recordings, and some pretty fun modular synth work for some of his dark magic. Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – Season 2 Launch Trailer

This was the official launch trailer for Killer Instinct: Season 2.  The team originally wanted it to just be music, but I was like AW HELL NAW and did a lot of sweetening using a combo of in-game content and bespoke stuff that I designed for the trailer.  Music by Mick Gordon.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 – TJ Combo Trailer

This was the first trailer for Killer Instinct: Season 2 that was basically the official announce and that the first character to make an appearance was the fan favorite, TJ Combo.  This was super fast turnaround and was used at E3 in 2014.  Music by Mick Gordon.

Short Film: Sunday

I was responsible for location audio, sound editing, sound design, and sound mix of this short film.

Here are the director’s notes from Mr. Mark Bristol:
Writer, Producer, Director Mark Bristol’s submission to the Philips Cinema TV’s Tell it Your Way short film competition.
The idea hit me when the light of the sun reflected off a car’s mirror.

I could not be more proud of the cast and crew for this film. The first time crew built the set in my garage in the 110 degree Texas heat. Then, the following weekend, we shut the door and filmed in even greater heat for eight amazing hours. Amber Smith, you are amazing. Thank you. Many thanks to the crew and their families.

In the post production I must thank Eric Webb and Zachary Quarles for the time spent on the color grading, and sound design. I must also send a special thanks to composer Ben Lukas Boysen. His work as Hecq is a major inspiration for me and I could not be more honored to have his music for this film.

Here is the face book page with the behind the scenes photos, storyboards etc.

Get away, get away.
I’m sorry.
